Cassia’s incoming CEO Matthew Kern beams with excitement when talking about Cassia’s mission to foster fullness of life for older adults in the spirit of Christ’s love.
“What excites me most is the opportunity to lead an organization whose mission is rooted in faith and service,” Matthew says. “At Cassia, we don’t just work together as a team. We support and care for each other like a family.”
As Cassia’s Chief Operating Officer, Matthew worked alongside our team to strengthen systems, expand our reach and guide us through some of the most challenging times in senior care. That experience has deepened his belief in who we are and what we can accomplish together.
Now, stepping into his new role as CEO, Matthew is energized to:
- Build on our strengths while seeking new ways to improve
- Bring fresh ideas to meet the evolving needs of older adults and families
- Uplift our people by listening, empowering and supporting them
- Keep mission and faith at the center of every decision
Matthew believes that all staff, residents, families and partners have an essential role in Cassia’s shared mission. This aligns with some of his favorite verses from 1 Corinthians 12, paraphrased as, “We are one body with many parts, each one essential, each one deeply valued.”
Though we serve in different locations and roles, we are united by a calling to serve with compassion, courage and Christ’s love. Together, we will continue to grow stronger. With Matthew leading the way, the future of Cassia is full of promise.
