Merry Christmas from Cassia

“And the Word became flesh and lived among us…full of grace and truth.” —John 1:14

Dear Residents, Families, and Friends,

As we celebrate the birth of Christ, I want to extend my heartfelt gratitude to each of you who are part of the Cassia community. Christmas is a season of reflection, hope, and renewal—and it is also a time to give thanks for the relationships and shared purpose that unite us.

Over the past months, as I’ve stepped into the role of CEO, I have seen God’s faithfulness expressed in countless ways throughout Cassia. I see it in the trust families place in us, in the resilience and wisdom of our residents, and in the compassion that defines daily life across our communities. Together, these moments form a living expression of our mission to foster fullness of life for older adults in the spirit of Christ’s love.

What makes Cassia truly special is that our mission is not simply stated—it is lived. It is present in the care provided, the relationships formed, and the commitment to honoring each person with dignity, respect, and compassion. We strive to care for the whole person—body, mind, and spirit—creating communities where older adults are known, valued, and supported.

The Christmas story reminds us that hope is not abstract—it is personal. It meets us where we are, brings light into uncertainty, and calls us to care for one another with grace and truth. At Cassia, we are deeply committed to reflecting that hope in the way we serve, support, and walk alongside residents and families every day.

Looking ahead, I am confident and grateful for what is before us. With God’s guidance, Cassia will continue to grow and strengthen—deepening our culture, expanding our reach, and building upon the values that have guided us for generations. Our vision is rooted in faith, compassion, and a shared calling to serve all by following One.

My prayer for you this Christmas is that you experience peace, comfort, and joy. May this season bring reassurance, meaningful connection, and the warmth of God’s presence to you and those you love.

Thank you for being part of the Cassia community. It is an honor to walk this journey with you.

Merry Christmas and God’s blessings to you in the year ahead. With gratitude and hope,

Matthew Kern
