Cassia Now Managing Westhaven Community

Cassia is pleased to announce it is now managing Westhaven Community in Boone, Iowa. With this partnership, Cassia strengthens its presence in central Iowa and continues its mission to deliver compassionate, faith-based senior care for older adults.

Westhaven Community has a proud history dating back to 1913. It began as the Swedish Old Folks’ Home, a residence created to provide comfort and care for retired Swedish Evangelical Free Church pastors.

In the early 2000s, the community rebranded as Westhaven Community and expanded its services to a broader population, adding a new building in 2012. Today, Westhaven offers a full continuum of care, including independent living, assisted living and skilled nursing—all designed to support residents through every stage of aging.

Like Westhaven, Cassia also has deep roots in the Evangelical Free Church of America. This shared foundation creates a strong alignment in values and purpose.

As a faith-based nonprofit senior living organization, Cassia’s mission is to foster fullness of life for older adults in the spirit of Christ’s love. Cassia provides independent and assisted living, memory care, skilled nursing, short-term rehabilitation, adult day programs and community-based services across five states.

Cassia owns senior living communities in Des Moines and Newton, and manages communities in Clive, Johnston, Cedar Rapids and Davenport. The addition of Westhaven Community further extends Cassia’s reach in Iowa and strengthens its commitment to quality, compassionate care.
