You Can Help Create a Place of Worship for Older Adults and Their Families
Rev. William J. Hamel Chapel Campaign
Your generous donation can carry on his incredible legacy at Harmony Gardens
Bill Hamel had a deep passion for the Cassia mission. He understood that Christ-centered senior living required a chapel to serve as the heart of the community and that ministry must flow intentionally throughout the entire building. During Bill’s time and involvement with Elim Care and Cassia, he helped shape and carry on this vision.
This vision is present across all Cassia communities, and with your support it will be coming soon to a new community called Harmony Gardens.
Harmony Gardens is a much needed replacement of New Harmony Care Center in St. Paul, where residents are waiting with enthusiastic anticipation to move into their new home.
Harmony Gardens will be a full, state-of-the-art continuum of care, complete with the warmth and amenities older adults need to feel at home.

A $400,000 capital campaign is now underway to cover the construction costs of the chapel at Harmony Gardens, which cannot be financed with tax-exempt bonds. As longstanding supporters began donating to the project the same question continued to surface, “Can we give in honor of Bill?” This is how the Rev. William J. Hamel Chapel Memorial Campaign began.
Thanks to the incredible generosity of local community members and businesses, $400,000 has been raised, putting us at 100% of the $400,000 goal. Thank you!
Home is Access to Worship
What is home? There are so many ways to answer that question. There are so many important pieces to feeling at home. At Cassia, we believe that access to worship is critical for our residents to truly experience home. At the center of the building, the chapel will serve as the heart of the community. The chapel will be equipped with technology for streaming services to individual resident room TVs. Because faith is at the heart of what we do, we believe that having a place of worship for residents, their families and even staff is essential. Simply put, the new building cannot be home without the chapel.
